Teacher Qualifications: The Basics

While every teacher is different, Center City PCS seeks candidates with:

  • A bachelor’s degree in applicable subject area, as appropriate
  • Passing Praxis exam score, by OSSE standards for applicable grade level or subject area
  • Candidates who have at least one year of full-time teaching experience and have worked in an urban environment are strongly preferred.
  • All successful applicants meet Highly Qualified Teacher  standards according to DC’s Office of the State Superintendent of Education.
