Dear Center City PCS Families,
Another great school year is coming to an end! We know you share our goal of making sure every child is prepared for high school, college and beyond! To reach that goal, students MUST continue reading and doing math throughout the summer. Center City PCS is putting on a Summer Learn-a-Thon to help students reach for the stars!
|
WHEN: |
June 17th to July 29th |
|
WHAT: |
A contest that encourages students to participate in math and reading activities ALL SUMMER LONG! |
|
HOW: |
Participants may complete online activities and read on their own! Time periods for reading are age appropriate and based on educators’ best practice. |
|
MY STUDENT’S JOB: |
Students keep track of the number of minutes they read, write book reports, report the number of minutes they spend completing online activities, and attend Learn-a-Thon events to earn points for prizes! |
|
MY JOB: |
Students can also read with family and friends! Listening to someone else read or reading with someone else, in any language, counts as well! **Parents also have to approve their student’s reading and math logs!** |
